The refurbished, retro-style Hino BM401 from the 1980s is the elegant way to drive down Yangon’s beautiful avenues passing colonial buildings and ancient pagodas. The friendly and experienced team of Burma Bus assures a unique and comfortable touring experience.
Myanmar started importing Hino vehicles back in 1954. Together with the government, manufacturing facilities were set up in Htonebo (Bago Region) and Yangon in 1965. Manufacturing continued until 1989 with over 20,000 vehicles having been sold.
The original Burma Bus had 20 seats, however after extensive refurbishment, it now boasts nine comfortable passenger seats and one guide seat in the front. The U-shaped sitting area is perfectly designed for social interaction. Other services include a small selection of books, Wi-Fi on board, a sound box and a filled refrigerator. Soft drinks are included, or opt for the VIP package which includes sparkling wine, snacks and unlimited soft drinks and beer.
Safety belts, two fire extinguishers, a first-aid-kit, as well as a refill station for drinking water are all part of the standard equipment.
