Maite's story ...
With avid-travellers for parents, you might say travelling is in Maite’s blood. Born in Mexico, she spent a lot of time on the road and in the air, leading to a desperate desire to be a tour guide ‘when she grew up’.
Years later, with even more stamps on her passport and a degree in international relations, Maite finally made the move back to Mexico.
A chance meeting with ICS Travel Group and Red Elephant Reps saw the start of a life-long love affair with Southeast Asia (and with us of course!). Here, she is able to combine all her passions – travel, culture, animal welfare, community development and sustainability.
When not travelling ...
You’ll find Maite and her pup, xxxx, hiking in the mountains, meeting people with the same respect for others and the planet, and cooking delicious vegetarian food.
Funniest travel memory ...
What’s spicy in Mexico is classed as mild in Thailand. Maite learned the hard way by asking for som tam – a notoriously fiery Thai salad – to be served extra spicy. This girl was on fire!
