Bringing Bali to You

Dream today – travel tomorrow

We’re bringing the tropical island of Bali to you – offering an escape from reality and hopefully inspiring you to plan your future bucket list adventures.

The mere mention of Bali evokes thoughts of white beaches, cascading rice fields, crumbling monuments, unspoiled nature, jungle-clad mountains, ancient spirituality, rich culture and genuinely warm people.

Sulawesi, Sumatra, Flores, Komodo, West Papua – there’s so much more to Indonesia than just Bali – although it is incredible. In fact there are more than 17,000 islands just waiting to be discovered. Our partner, ICS Travel Group, has been in the region for many years and has put together a great guide to the various islands and the range of experiences on offer.
If you haven’t yet seen it, check out the movie Eat Pray Love starring Julia Roberts. It tells the story of a woman who left behind her husband, house and successful career to embark on a spiritual experience in Bali. Join her on her journey as she takes us cycling through rice fields north of Ubud; swimming in the clear waves of Padang Padang Beach; to meeting up with real-life spiritual man, (the late) Ketut Liyer, in his Pengosekan village home.

Gado-gado is one of Indonesia’s most famous dishes, and with good reason– it’s delicious! There is no set way of making it so feel free to experiment with different ingredients alongside the sweet, spicy peanut sauce, crisp vegetables and soft potatoes. We love this recipe from Jamie Oliver for its freshness and simplicity – why not try it out and let us know how you get on!

From sacred monkeys to carved dragons, and from hidden waterfalls to spectacular sunsets, there is so much to see in Bali. Our client, Viceroy Bali, a luxurious and intimate resort located on a lush hillside just outside Ubud, has put together a list of the 10 top things you simply have to do on your next visit to the island
