Bringing Thailand to You

Dream today – travel tomorrow

We’re bringing Thailand to you – offering an escape from reality and hopefully inspiring you to plan your future bucket list adventures.

Vibrant cities, otherworldly temples, stunning islands, fiery food and jungle-clad national parks – Thailand simply has so much to experience. Add to that – tropical hideaways in secret bays, chic wellness retreats and blissful boutique hotels – and you are guaranteed a holiday as charming and alluring as the famous Thai smile.

Lockdown Literature

Hotel junkies may not be able to travel right now, but can still plan their wish list for later in the year and beyond. We’re huge fans of Thailand’s boutique hotels as they offer something a bit more unique and cosy than the big chain hotels. Think intimate spaces, personalised service, quirky design, cool pools and local connections. The petite properties on the list of our partner, ICS Travel Group, have just the right dose of privacy and friendly service.

Lockdown Movie

Showcasing beautiful places on the west coast of Thailand such as Phang Nga Bay and Nai Yang Beach in Phuket, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason follows more quirky antics of the lovable blonde singleton. Add in some psychedelic drugs, big knickers, two handsome men (Hugh Grant and Colin Firth) and a scary prison and this really does become the perfect lockdown movie!

We’ve attached the trailer to tempt you!

Lockdown Hideaway

The island of Koh Lanta has a deliciously unspoilt barefoot beauty. There’s fantastic diving here with incredible visibility, underwater pinnacles and masses of marine life. If scuba isn’t your thing, explore limestone caves by kayak or paddle through gnarled mangrove forests. For laidback luxury, there’s no beating Pimalai Resort & Spa, nestled on a hillside in tropical forest leading down onto a powdery curve of beach.

Lockdown Sundowners

We’re thinking that some liquid refreshments are needed to go along with all this reading and movies! The skilled mixologist at the akyra Manor Chiang Mai Hotel shows us how to make one of their signature cocktails called ‘Gold’. The recipe uses a local type of rum called Sangsom but you could substitute this for any other type of rum. Take a sip and imagine yourself sitting at the resort’s rooftop Rise Bar overlooking the pool and distant mountains.

Lockdown Wellness

Do you have time on your hands? Now is the perfect opportunity to pamper yourself with a rich, nourishing hair treatment. Mangosteen Ayurveda and Wellness Resort on the island of Phuket – a pioneer in Thailand for combining hospitality with Ayurveda – has kindly given us the secret to their famous Ayurveda hair tonic. This recipe consists of potent herbs mixed with coconut oil – a natural conditioner that not only nourishes the scalp and the hair, but also has a calming and meditative effect.
