Strangest travel memory ...
There were a few contenders, but this Morocco story definitely takes the tagine. Along with five fellow travellers, Emily signed up for a five-hour desert trip. Many hours later, well past dark, the car stopped in the middle of nowhere. Due to floods, they were told they would have to walk in the pitch black through the desert to reach the hotel. Cue imaginations running wild and half-serious escape plans. Plot twist: everyone survived – but they had to spend four days in the hotel before they could get back. Seven stranded foreigners needing three meals a day proved excellent business for the desert resort.
